All my thanks are for you, mom, for our relationship and for what you have been, and always will be, for me
Mum and daughter, you know, have an important relationship destined to last forever. An inexplicable bond characterized by so much love, pure and authentic, which occasionally experiences ups and downs (do you remember the period of adolescence?). Yet despite those faded memories of rebellions, discussions and those "when she is a mother I will not be like you", all that remains of the relationship between mother and daughter, then, is only inexplicable joy, mixed with love and gratitude.
Because after all it is to them, to our mothers, that we owe everything we have learned and who we are today. The first thanks we owe them is for the life they have given us, for having brought us into the world and for having given us their unconditional love, even before holding us in their arms and looking each other in the eye.
Thanks mom for being there, always and in any case, even when I pushed you away and told you I didn't need you. I was actually lying, because now I know that without you, I wouldn't have been able to become the woman I am today.
Thank you for pampering me and for loving me unconditionally, never asking for anything in return.
Thank you for encouraging me to face life's challenges, for teaching me that failures are part of this and that I don't have to fear them.
Thank you for making me feel special, even when during my adolescence I was filled with doubts and insecurities. For making me feel like a swan, when I looked more like the ugly duckling.
Thank you when you believed in me, and in my dreams, even before I did. And thank you for defending my choices, with the whole world, when no one understood me, and everyone else was only ready to criticize.
Thank you for being a friend and a confidant too. For having listened, relentlessly, to all my doubts about that relationship that you, first of all, had already understood that it would only cause me pain. But thank you also for allowing me to live it and learn from my mistakes.
Thank you mom for accompanying me on the path of autonomy, and for letting go of my hand when it was time to do so. I know it wasn't easy for you. Your courage will be an example for me to follow.
Thank you for everything that has been between us. Thank you mom, for all you are and always will be for me.
