On Thursday 22 April there is an important opportunity to put issues related to women's health at the center of attention
Also for this year, on the day of 22 April (date of birth of the Nobel Prize Rita Levi Montalcini) is the National Day of Women's Health, wanted by the Athena Woman Committee together with the Ministry of Health, an important anniversary to put at the center of pay attention to issues related to women's health.
"The National Day this year must be an opportunity to send a strong message, which reaches all women, reminding them not to neglect the prevention agenda and to perform the screening tests recommended for age groups, despite the difficulties that this moment entails »underlines Carla Vittoria Maira, President of Atena Donna.
In addition to the problems related to the increase in the burden of social and family responsibilities that many women have had to face, in fact, the current pandemic situation has also made it much more difficult to carry out the usual prevention procedures regarding health in general and for women. in particular: "as a result, many women may discover that they have a disease in a more advanced stage, and many others will have had to postpone a necessary treatment or will not have been able to carry out regular checkups – continues Carla Vittoria Maira – They are extremely worrying data relating to oncology, cardiovascular health and other diseases such as diabetes, which since the beginning of the pandemic have recorded a steady decline in access to diagnosis and treatments ”.
Not surprisingly, the message chosen for this edition is #CONCENTRATISULLATUASALUTE, an invitation supported in the video produced with the contribution of several prominent exponents of the Italian scene and also present on the bracelets commissioned, as in previous years, to women in institutes of sentence, through the association Made in prison.
