Its role is fundamental and, as demonstrated by various scientific evidence, it is a point of reference when it comes to preventing diseases such as Parkinson's, one of the most serious and disabling neurodegenerative diseases.

There is no denying it: broad beans are truly a precious treasure chest of benefits! Among the reasons why they are good for health we also find the presence of fiber – 7 grams each hectogram – nutrients notoriously essential for maintaining intestinal efficiency and to contribute, thanks to the lower absorption of dietary cholesterol and sugars, to improve cardiovascular health and prevent diabetes.

Returning for a moment to the presence of antioxidants, a proper mention must be made of vitamin A, essential for the beauty of the skin and for the efficiency of sight. Knowing the benefits of beans is very important. It is equally, however, to read up on their contraindications.

Among these it is possible to mention favism, a problem that affects about 3% of the Italian population. In addition, beans are not recommended for those suffering from stones or those who are predisposed. Rich in isoflavones, which according to some studies could represent allies in the prevention of breast cancer, beans interfere with the effectiveness of some drugs.
