Car review bonus: who is entitled to and how to request it

The request for the car review bonus for 2022 has been postponed to May, so those who want to apply for it have more time to do so. But what exactly is it and, above all, when and to whom is it provided?

The car inspection bonus – also called the safe vehicle bonus – is an indemnity of € 9.95 to compensate for the increased rates for the inspection of motor vehicles and trailers. We know that it went from 66.88 to 78.75 euros due to the 9.95 euros increase in the ministerial rate (from 45.00 to 54.95 euros), net of VAT at 22% and other expenses that brought the actual rise to + € 11.87.

The departure of requests of the car inspection bonus for expenses incurred in 2022, which was initially scheduled for 1 March, has been postponed to May. The reason, according to the Ministry, would be to give more time to those who did the revision in 2021.

What is certain is that the contribution can be requested for the revisions carried out from November 1, 2021, the day on which the tariff increase came into effect, and for the following three years (therefore 2022, 2023 and 2024). At the moment, however, those who carried out the revision from 1 November to 31 December 2021 have until 30 April 2022 to apply. Who, on the other hand, he has made it starting from 1 January 2022, however, he will be able to send his application on the platform from May.
