For example, its role in increasing the immune system is known: in particular, it stimulates the production of white blood cells, the cells responsible for protecting our body from attacks by viruses and bacteria. It also improves the absorption of iron, a mineral essential for health.
There are many antioxidants present in this tropical fruit, including flavonoids and phenolic acids.
