The area can also have a shiny appearance. But nothing is lost. In fact, thanks to the makeup, you will be able to get rid of it, at least momentarily.

Here’s the trick to getting your scar off your face

Make-up is capable of working miracles. In fact, if the latter is applied correctly, it can prove to be an effective way to cover facial scars. You need to know that most scars fade away six to eighteen months after the injury. Covering the scars during this time will reduce their appearance during the healing process.

At this point, let’s see together how to proceed. First of all, choose a green corrector to eliminate the redness of the scar. You can find it in many cosmetic stores or even pharmacies. Then apply a light layer of concealer on the facial scar using a makeup sponge. This prevents the transfer of bacteria from the fingers to the skin.

Then apply a regular concealer to the facial scar and pour it onto a clean makeup sponge. Lightly blend the concealer on and around the scarred area. Avoid using too much concealer, which could create a crusty look. Apply the foundation to your face with a makeup sponge. Blend the product all over the face to avoid creating unnatural makeup lines. Then focus on the jaw and blend the make-up again.

After that, you are ready to add some matte powder, so as to fix the makeup. Use a large brush and blend the powder onto the skin in a circular motion. By brushing the powder on the facial scar, the appearance of the scar will be less noticeable. Once this is done, check your makeup application in the mirror and proceed to correct if necessary.

If the appearance of the scar has not improved within 18 months, consult a dermatologist. They may recommend treatments such as laser therapy, dermabrasion or a punch graft procedure to reduce the appearance of the facial scar. In any case, we recommend that you protect the scar from sun exposure. Apply a sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher. Some makeups have sunscreen built in or can be purchased separately and applied before makeup.
