Shoulder pads, sequins and XXL hair: 80s? No, New Year's Eve 2019!
The 80s look is back to the very big: now it seems like a consolidated trend to dust off the decades when fashion had really iconic elements to make them go back to being super current. Just look at the fashion bloggers and the influencers, starting with Chiara Ferragni: sequins, shoulder pads, open bellies … all ingredients of the Eighties look that now really like it! Wouldn't it be an original idea to wear this look even for New Year 2019?
Eighties New Year: velvet and necklines
Velvet is a super trend: if you have a velvet dress, preferably with a deep V-neck, even not necessarily black, but forest green, blue, burgundy or brown, combine it with golden jewelry and a lot of bling bling. The 1980s effect is assured.
80s New Year: XXL shoulder pads
Shoulder pads !!! I still remember those of my mother's jackets, the most 80s garments of all! If you like the idea, replicate it in more parsimonious doses, choosing a dress with sleeves with a shirred shoulder, under which you can put (or not) the shoulder strap. At the foot, a V-shaped décolleté and you will seem to come out of "Paths"!
80s New Year: sequins
Sequins are a must: thirty years ago they were everywhere! And I don't mind, I'll be honest. An all-over sequined dress to wear with bikers for a slightly grunge look can be the chic touch for a New Year's Eve … why not try it?
