HONOR Magic V3 — debut on the global market
The HONOR Magic V3 version of the much-talked-about clamshell was a real hit at the exhibition. Weighing 226 g and measuring just 9.2 mm thick (when folded), this smartphone is even thinner than its classic predecessors and is also the thinnest foldable smartphone on the market. The device's body is made of a special fiber, and the ultra-light HONOR Super Steel hinge ensures reliability, allowing the smartphone to withstand up to 500,000 folding cycles.
Magic V3 is equipped with two AMOLED displays: an external 6.43-inch display and an internal 7.92-inch display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. Finally, the heart of the new product is one of the fastest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processors on the market with 16 GB of RAM, which is enough to run any games and the most demanding applications for many years to come.
Acer Nitro Blaze 7 — ответ ROG Ally и Steam Deck
Acer has jumped on the bandwagon and unveiled the Nitro Blaze 7, a new portable gaming console that will compete with the likes of the ASUS ROG Ally X and Steam Deck. Powered by an AMD Ryzen 7 8840HS processor and Radeon 780M graphics, the Blaze 7 delivers excellent performance for a portable device, enough to run many demanding games in Full HD resolution.
By the way, the built-in display is made using IPS technology and boasts a 7-inch diagonal with a resolution of 1080p and a refresh rate of 144 Hz. Nitro Blaze 7 is equipped with 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM, which is considered the minimum for comfortable gaming on an iGPU, and the capacity of the built-in battery is just over 50 Wh, which is noticeably less than that of its direct competitor ROG Ally X (80 Wh).
TECNO MEGA MINI Gaming G1 – Powerful Mini PC
The brand continues to delight fans with unusual new products – this year at IFA the MEGA MINI Gaming G1 mini-PC was presented.
The computer is made in a compact case with a volume of only 5.74 liters with a metal frame and glass side panels. The performance of the new product is provided by the Intel i9-13900H processor, working in tandem with the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 graphics card.
The key feature of MEGA MINI G1 is the water cooling system, which guarantees minimal noise levels even under prolonged loads. TECNO itself assures that each component has been tested for reliability, and the entire system will be covered by a three-year warranty.
Acer Dual Play — Touchpad Replaces Gamepad
Acer did not limit itself to a gaming console and presented Dual Play – a laptop in which a full-fledged gamepad is built in place of the touchpad. Such an unusual design will allow gamers to easily switch between the keyboard and the controller, feeling comfortable even in the most unusual gameplay scenarios.
The controller can be divided into two joysticks, and when it is removed from the laptop case, the side speakers are activated. Despite the fact that the device is at the prototype stage, it has already attracted public attention due to its originality and functionality. However, it is unknown how much such an unusual design affected the internal layout and battery size, because the controller, unlike the touchpad, takes up much more space.
Emotional Periphery by Ugreen
Ugreen surprised IFA 2024 attendees with a new collection of chargers and power banks with built-in displays that can show emotions. For example, the Ugreen Uno 6-in-1 USB hub is equipped with six ports, including USB-C and HDMI, and displays power and data status on a built-in monochrome display.
The Ugreen Uno Power Bank external battery, in turn, has a capacity of 10,000 mAh, which is standard for this class of devices, and is also capable of being sad or smiling depending on the current situation. It will be interesting to see what emotions the new products will display in non-standard usage scenarios, such as a short circuit or a malfunction of one of the ports.
TCL NxtPaper – Almost Electronic Ink
TCL, not very well known on the European market, announced the release of very special smartphones NxtPaper 50 and 50 Pro. At first glance, ordinary budget smartphones are equipped with screens that imitate displays on electronic ink: with the help of a physical button, users can turn off all notifications and activate monochrome mode, which will significantly increase battery life and comfort of use.
Both devices have similar specifications, including a 6.8-inch IPS display and an eight-core Mediatek Dimensity 6300 processor. The differences between the basic and Pro versions are in the memory capacity (up to 256 GB for the basic version, up to 512 GB for the Pro) and the resolution of the front camera sensor (8 MP in the base, 32 MP in the Pro). According to the manufacturer, in E-ink mode, the smartphones can work for up to seven days, which is unattainable for smartphones with classic screens. However, it is important to understand that we are talking only about imitation of electronic ink, so the new product from TCL is still far from specialized “readers”.
Acer Nitro UltraSpeed - 600Hz out of the box
The latest and no less impressive new product from Acer, presented at IFA, were Acer monitors designed for gamers and eSportsmen. The most compact of them, the Nitro XV240 F6, is equipped with a Full HD display with a diagonal of 24.1 inches. Despite the rather modest resolution, the panel boasts a refresh rate of 600 Hz and a response time of 0.1 ms – this is where the full potential of the latest video cards will be revealed.
There will also be two “bigger” models on the market – the Nitro XV270 F5 and Nitro XV270U F5 with a 27-inch diagonal – they support a refresh rate of up to 520 Hz, and the U-version is equipped with a matrix with a WQHD resolution (2560×1440). All three monitors have mechanical height and tilt adjustment, which ensures ease of use in any conditions, although, of course, for ordinary users such speed will be completely unnecessary.
