The benefits of gratitude
The sense of gratitude above all means fullness and harmony. Trying it towards life in general guarantees positive and efficient behavior. In other words, feeling grateful for life, we are able to feel a sense of recognition for being in the world and our personal power, used in its full sense, is held in high regard. Each action acquires a living meaning and everything becomes truly possible and real. Those who experience a feeling of gratitude have a sense of contentment, understood as containment, joy, the desire to feel good about themselves. The graces that start straight from the heart have truly positive effects on the whole organism. Cognitive processes improve and stress decreases, nervousness and anxiety are better managed. Gratitude also drives away toxic emotions such as envy and resentment and allows us to better live our social relationships and deal with any event. Even if someone hurts us in the short term, we can and must put boundaries, but without hurting ourselves, as in the medium or long term perspective we know that we can learn from pain and that procuring more does not make us develop gratitude. and fullness but it sends us in the direction of guilt. If you keep gratitude towards what you have, you don't risk developing excessive materialism and attachment, you live better. In addition to our relationship with the things we possess, gratitude also puts us in an excellent relationship with memories, the way we mentally retrace our autobiographical history.
Gratitude in other words makes us feel good, guarantees us relaxation, increases our self-esteem, makes the relationship we have with ourselves / and consequently with others better. People have a greater desire to spend time in the presence of those who know how to practice gratitude and a virtuous circle is created for which we go to attract people similar to our mental and emotional trend.
How gratitude is practiced
Gratitude and observation go hand in hand. If you are locked up in your own thoughts it becomes really difficult to be able to enjoy the things that surround us and it refers to a sunset, a sunrise, the color of the leaves, a meal. Anything could give us occasion for joy and gratitude, if we remain open to life. To practice gratitude one should go towards a different vision of wealth as well: being full means having talents that you appreciate and want to be respected. The present moment always remains the gateway to gratitude. If you live in the past or the future it becomes very difficult not to experience gratitude with regret or with anxiety or expectations. The present remains the door through which the desire to be happy and serene enters.
A great exercise is in writing: write something beautiful that exists in your life, whether it is related to your family or friends or work or goals. Another great exercise: before falling asleep, mention, if you want aloud, 3 things you are grateful for; upon awakening the mood changes. Starting something new often reinforces gratitude. Work out, eat something different, hang out with new people. We must not sit idle and wait for things to change, but we must enter the new, not waste too much time and energy by focusing on things that cannot be changed. Focusing on the things we have power over becomes a great way to make a difference in the sense of gratitude.
The enemies of gratitude
Life immediately sends gratitude back. Those who cry on themselves have every reason to do it and continue to do so as it vibrates on a low frequency. Seeing the wonder that surrounds us also depends on the people we decide to hang out with. Complaint forcefully drives gratitude away. If we see what is wrong our gaze remains narrow and we are receptive only to what remains dark and heavy. Of course, if there are moments when it seems to us that everything is going wrong, it becomes difficult to maintain a positive attitude, but there are good ways to start again. We all have some form of resilience, a certain springy way to invest in the future and have hope based on the things we want. Sometimes stopping means finding the strength to start in a different way. Even if we are experiencing a separation on a sentimental level, sometimes the distance gives new strength to the union that is lived.
We should always try to keep control anxiety at bay, which is the main enemy of gratitude. If I control, I create anxiety and expectation. I can only control and observe how I experience something, how I focus my degree of attention. Habit represents another great enemy of gratitude. If I always do the same things I always get the same results. If I don't make myself responsible first of all for my actions, unfortunately I always tend to live the single days in an unproductive and bright way. We should manage everything trying not to feed the frustration and feeling in control of our days means living in the direction of gratitude, out of anger, pain and sadness.
