Gyms, curfew and white zone: reopening calendar and new rules

The new provides for the gradual reopening of activities including gyms, weddings and indoor bars and restaurants. Change the curfew and return the white zone

The Council of Ministers has given the green light to the new DL on reopening, following the guidelines of Premier Mario Draghi presented on the afternoon of 17 May during the control room at Palazzo Chigi. The latest data analyzed by the National Institute of Health are constantly improving.

Measures that provide for the gradual reopening of all activities, including shopping centers, gyms and mountain lifts, closed since last season. A moderate calendar that, step by step, aims to return to "normality", always in full compliance with anti-Covid regulations and taking into account the continuous monitoring of data on infections.

Important news also on the curfew, which in recent weeks has been the subject of confrontation (and clash) between the parties. The calendar provides for the easing of the measures, until its complete disappearance. The new rules are valid for the regions in the yellow zone, while the six regions that return to the white zone are an exception, with the obligation of spacing and masks.

How the curfew changes

The curfew – or rather the prohibition of travel for reasons other than work, necessity or health – in the yellow zone will be postponed from 10pm to 11pm starting from May 19, therefore postponed by one hour. Then starting from 7 June it will be permanently moved to midnight, the maximum return time. Finally, on 21 June it will be permanently abolished.

Six regions in the white zone

The month of June foresees the return of the white zone. The Draghi government has reached an agreement on the modification of the parameters for the change in the range of regions: the hospital RT will be taken into account, which counts hospitalizations in the wards, measuring the incidence of new cases per 100 thousand inhabitants.

If the decline in infections is confirmed, six regions will return to the white zone to be exact: Abruzzo, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Liguria, Molise, Sardinia and Veneto. The first to return white will be Friuli Venezia Giulia, Molise and Sardinia from 1 June, while Abruzzo, Veneto and Liguria will have to wait another week, becoming the white zone from 7 June.

For these regions there will be no more curfews and you can move freely regardless of health, need and work reasons. Obviously, the precautionary measures regarding spacing and use of the masks remain in force.

When the gyms reopen

The new DL on reopening brings some important news also regarding the reopening of gyms. The previous decree (of 22 April) had established that they would resume their activities from 1 June, instead the Council of Ministers brought forward the opening to 24 May.

Gyms and sports centers will have to abide by the new guidelines approved by the CTS, but it is a great step towards returning to normal. Inside the structures, the temperature of everyone – members, insiders, companions – must be measured, preventing entry to those with a temperature above 37.5 ° C. The use of the mask, the sanitation of shared equipment, the spacing of at least one meter and the prohibition of showering in the structure remain mandatory.

Weddings and receptions

Good news for future spouses too. The new Draghi decree provides that weddings and receptions can be held both outdoors and indoors from 15 June. All guests must have the green pass, that is the certificate of vaccination (or recovery) or which certifies the negative result of the tampon in the previous 48 hours.

Other reopenings

From 22 May the ski facilities will be back in operation, always in compliance with the guidelines established by the CTS. Shopping centers, markets and galleries also reopen (even on weekends).

From June 1, it's up to indoor bars and restaurants, which will finally be able to open while always respecting the rules of hygiene and spacing (including the use of a mask). It can also be consumed at the table for dinner and we can go back to have a coffee directly at the bar counter. On the same date, the possibility of attending a sports competition at the stadium returns (for the sports halls it will have to wait until 1 July), but the capacity must not exceed 25% of the maximum.

From 15 June the fairs will also restart and admission will be allowed to the public, as well as the theme parks which, according to the old decree, should have reopened from 1 July. Go ahead also for conferences and congresses, but participants must have a green pass.

Last reopening date on July 1st for indoor pools, spas, arcades, bingo and casinos. The recreational and social centers will also reopen on this date and training courses, both public and private, will be active again.

Activities in the ballrooms and discos, both outdoors and indoors, are currently suspended.
