Prince Harry would have been at the center of a palace orchestrated plan, to which Queen Elizabeth was no stranger – to publicly humiliate him. Omid Scobie, an expert in real affairs and co-author of the biography in favor of the Sussexes, Finding Freedom, is convinced of this.

It would all be born of Harry's desire to have a wreath laid in his name at the Remembrance Day ceremony traditionally attended by the Queen with senior members of the Court, Charles and Camilla, Kate Middleton and William, the Countess of Wessex. A rite that takes place at the cenotaph in memory of the fallen soldiers, to whom Harry is very attached and who has always seen him present.

This year the Prince was unable to attend, also in consideration of the difficulties of returning to Great Britain due to the pandemic. In fact, since last spring Harry, Meghan Markle and their son Archie have been living in Los Angeles. The flower wreath in his name would be a sign of his presence. But the Palace refused the request of Carlo's son who, according to rumors, was very disappointed. Harry and Meghan still wanted to pay homage to the soldiers who died in the war with a personal ceremony at the Los Angeles military cemetery.

Buckingham Palace justified the refusal by arguing that Harry is no longer an active member of the Royal Family and therefore no longer represents the Queen. But according to Omid Scobie, there is a deliberate plan to publicly humiliate Harry.

In fact, the royal commentator in a tweet claims that the Palace wanted to leak the news to belittle the Prince and almost "make him ashamed" of his choices. “They refuse Harry's request to lay the crown and feel the need to let us know. Because? To let us know that you are not welcome? To humiliate him? This is particularly cruel ”: thunders on Twitter Scobie.

About Remembrance Day, Harry said: “For me it is a time of respect and hope. Respect for those who came before us and hope for a safer world ”. And he continued: "Remembering is an act of honor. This is how we preserve the legacy of entire generations and show our gratitude for the sacrifices they have made to allow us to live the life we live today ".

Omid, who has worked with Harry and Meghan for several years, has also returned to the subject in his podcasts, calling the decision of the Palace "controversial", taking into account that the Prince served in the military for 10 years, became Captain, is been on a mission to Afghanistan twice. "To see him denied the honor of laying down his crown, but it made him uncomfortable", continues the expert who then turned to His Majesty. “He could have changed the rules. After members of the Royal Family and the British government lay their crowns, those of charities and charities supporting the military are presented. Harry is to be considered one of them ”.

Scobie insists, however, that what baffled him most was the decision by someone in the Palace to make public the news of the refusal, information that – according to Omid – was completely personal and irrelevant to public opinion.
