How to choose the hair color based on the color scheme

But what happens when your hair color “clashes” with the overall color effect? Well yes: the search for perfect colors and tones is not limited to the outfit, but also includes one’s own image. Can a spring woman have raven black hair? On the other hand, who identifies with the Winter season, can opt for a blonde color? Stop! There are also rules for the hair, which should always be respected to obtain that harmonious effect that is so desired.

In the introduction of this article we have given you some small clues: you have already understood that, according to the rules of the color scheme, not all hair colors are associated well with the season that is represented. To choose the hair color according to the armochromatic rules, however, you need to know your season. Once you have identified and determined which are your dominant colors, then you can follow the theory of the four seasons and you will also be able to associate the perfect hair color for you.

Define your type: hot or cold

Seems simple so far, right? In reality, the color scheme dictates decidedly more complicated rules, and defining one’s season does not only involve a superficial objective examination, but the overall tonality must also be decisive. Autumn, winter, spring, summer: to know which category you belong to, you must also go and decipher your specific color code. Are warm or cool shades predominating on your skin? Do gold or silver tones suit you better? To understand this, start with a very simple reflection: your birth colors. They will be the ones to guide you in identifying your season. It doesn’t matter how many hair dyes you have done over the years or which color you are most fond of: even if you have jet black hair today, if you were born blonde… that’s where you have to start.

The winter hair according to the color scheme

What do we know about the winter woman? As if it were a modern “Snow White”, the winter woman is characterized by cold and high intensity undertones. The palette of the winter woman creates a medium-low color mix, with dark but deep colors: black, silver, dark purple and strong contrasts between them. Pastel colors or shades that are too warm such as ocher and yellow are banned. But let’s get to the physical characteristics: a winter woman has light or slightly olive skin, which hardly takes color and does not “blotch” long after sport or after a sunny day. He has black hair, brown eyes, or dark green or deep blue. If you find yourself in these physical characteristics, then the hair colors that best suit your season are:

  • jet black
  • dark brown
  • ash brown

But be careful: the color scheme of winter hair should avoid any copper or golden shade, aiming to “turn off” the warm tones preferring the cold ones. The brown will therefore also be a decisive brown but without warmth. The colors absolutely forbidden for winter women are reds, oranges and blondes. Green light for light bleaching, but always with cool shades.

Spring hair according to the color scheme

The spring woman has a clear and bright palette, which in turn is divided into subgroups of absolute spring, bright spring, light spring and hot spring. Usually, those who return to the spring season have a warm undertone and a light or high color value, with very high contrast and intensity and eyes with bright colors such as blue, green and amber. A spring woman is the spokesperson for warm and bright tones, and unlike the winter woman, she is absolutely not enhanced with black. Fantastic instead with coral, gold, turquoise, orange, geranium red and peach. In short, a warm brightness characterizes the color scheme of spring hair, which turns out to be wonderful with:

  • light brown
  • warm blond
  • rosso

So what are the banned colors? Well, by now you will have understood: those too dark and cold. Raven black, as well as platinum blonde, do not marry at all with the style of the spring woman. A simple brown can be lightly treated on the lengths by opting for a hazel color or golden tips (as long as they are warm!)

Autumn hair according to the color scheme

In autumn hair color, things get slightly complicated, but only because this group includes a broader spectrum of shades. In fact, the characteristics of the autumn woman include dark eyes, green eyes, hazel eyes and warm undertones, with amber and golden skin and low contrast. Usually, the autumn woman does not exceed with colors that are too dark and not even with those that are too light and tending to cold. With these premises, you will have well understood that focusing on excessively “strong” colors for your tint is not good! If you are part of the fall group, you can opt for a hair of color:

  • moro
  • castano
  • warm blond
  • rosso

Ideally, those who are part of the autumn palette should only go to slightly warm their base color, creating a general harmony between eyes and hair that should not be excessively contrasting.

Summer hair according to the color scheme

The color scheme of the summer hair speaks for itself… literally: the light and delicate shades, in fact, are the hallmark of the summer palette. The “summer” category includes women with blue or very light eyes, looking for cold shades and pastel colors. In short, the combination of delicacy, coldness and moderation is what distinguishes the summer woman. Which colors to focus on to create a harmonious and balanced effect for the completely palette look?

  • ash blond
  • light blonde
  • delicate blond
  • pastel shades (pink, tiffany, etc.)
  • grey

Avoid too hot and bright colors like red, jet black, and all the warm shades that just don’t harmonize with the summer types.

Let’s talk about blond: not all is the same

We have seen how to determine your hair color according to your season and, above all, your undertone. As for the blond, for example, it is necessary to study exactly which type we are talking about. Cold, icey and very bright blondes – for example, are very different from golden, honey, gold and champagne. Here the difference is the famous undertone: those who have it clear and tending to pink, can opt for the first type of blond. On the other hand, those with warmer and more peachy skin, for the latter.

Brown: a question of shades

For the brown there is a rule very similar to that of the blond, which differentiates the warmer palette (honey, beer, caramel for example) from the colder one such as ash and truffle. An error that should always be avoided with brown is that relating to uniformity: if the color is too “compact” and devoid of any nuance, it risks turning off the complexion and weighing down the eyes.

And the red?

There is no doubt: red is the color of discord! Loved by everyone, it is actually extremely difficult to wear naturally. Those with olive skin should avoid it, because in general red goes only with very fair and warm skins. If, on the other hand, you have a colder complexion, it is good to opt for more intense and deep reds, but always with great attention.
