The first gesture after returning from a hard day? Fill the tub and indulge in the warm embrace of a relaxing bath. Much more than a simple daily necessity, the bathroom is a real one therapeutic ritual. Water, in fact, helps to get in touch with the spirit, purifies the emotions and makes us reach harmony between mind and body. If you want to take a bath a deeply relaxing experience you have to follow some rules. The first is wash quickly in the shower before diving. “In this way the skin is already clean and the healing substances added to the bath will have more effect”, explains the expert in hydrotherapy. Gudrun From The Street. Second rule, choose the right temperature. “The bathroom relaxes if it’s hot, but you have to be careful,” warns Dalla Via. “Excessive heat takes away the energy. The ideal is around 37-38 degrees, for a duration of about 20 minutes”. But here’s how to make the magical encounter with water even more effective.

To warm the heart

If you feel tired, but also a little depressed, try this bathroom suggested by the dermatologist and psychotherapist Maria Teresa Lucheroni. To a kilo of unrefined sea salt, mix 5 drops of essence of rose geranium and 5 of petitgrain. Put the mixture in the tub just before divingexplains Lucheroni. The scent it is a fundamental ingredient of relaxation. In fact, the aromatic molecules, passing through the olfactory path, directly reach the seat of emotions, which is found in the oldest brain. This explains whya pleasant scent evokes immediately a feeling ofWelfare.

To rediscover nature

After a day spent among neon lights and computer screens, there is a need to regenerate in contact with our great mother, nature. If you haven’t even had time for a walk in the countryside, bring nature into the tub. “Add fresh flower petals or citrus slices to the water,” suggests Gudrun Dalla Via. “In addition to the scent, there is the pleasure of observing petals and fruits floating. It is a show that reconciles with the world.” At the end of the bath you can rub the slices of orange and lemon on the skin; their balsamic essences will leave it soft and perfumed.

To make peace with the body

Are the muscles sore? Here is an exercise of stretching which will help you release all tensions in water. Lean with your back against the edge of the tub and slowly raise one leg without bending it; the other leg is bent, with the foot firmly resting on the bottom. Using your hands behind your knee, gently pull your leg towards your chest; extend your toe. Stay in position for about half a minute without forcing, then switch sides. While performing the exercise with all calm remember to breathe deeply. The exhalation phase is especially important, to be performed while bringing the leg to the chest. Empty your lungs well by throwing the air out of your mouth.

To regenerate the psyche

Are you upset by a fight or an anger? Try this bathroom pointed out by Mary Muryn, author of the book The magic of water: you will feel better immediately. Put ten drops of Rescue Remedy, the first aid remedy of the Bach flowers. While you stay immersed, sip a glass of cool water to which you have added five drops of the same remedy. Bach flowers heal the soul and help to recover quickly give it emotions negative.

To recharge your energy

Are you broken but need to get in shape quickly for the evening? All you have to do is add to the water a cup of apple cider vinegar. “It is an excellent detoxifier that also leaves the skin particularly soft”, explains Gudrun Dalla Via. If you want to follow Mary Muryn’s advice in this case too: after the bath, do it a few steps barefoot, at home or in the garden. It will help you release all negative energies to the ground and feel like new.
