Not everyone has a garden or balcony to grow their plants: here are 5 indoor plants that require little light
Even those who live in an apartment without a balcony can afford to create their own garden: just choose the plants that require little light and can therefore also grow indoors. Plants furnish, give color and character to your home, so it is important to choose them carefully, so that you can enrich your spaces with a touch of green.
Indoor plants: which ones to choose
The first indoor plant to buy is the zamia: it is one of the longest and most resistant. Its flowers bloom even in the absence of direct light, it needs a lot of water and must not be pruned. Another very resistant plant is the philodendron, also known as the dark plant. Its growth is unstoppable and is often used also as a climber. It must be positioned far from heat sources and this too needs a lot of water. Its leaves come to be very large, shiny and with a good consistency, for this reason it is advisable to clean them regularly with a damp cloth, to prevent dust from settling.
Staying on the subject of vines, hedera helix is also a perfect plant for interiors. Its leaves are dark green and grows very well even in places without light, but it must be repotted every 2-3 years to allow it to grow in the right way. In nature it can even reach 30 meters in height and can be observed above all on the trunks of other plants. This plant must also be pruned in early spring, in order to maintain a voluminous shape from the roots and prevent its branches from stretching excessively. For those who love tropical plants, sanseveria can be the perfect solution: native to the Indies and Africa, it is part of the agavacee family. Sanseveria can grow both in the sun and in shaded areas, the only precaution to follow is not to water it often because it fears water and water stagnation. Finally, the last indoor plant to buy is kenzia, originally from Australia, loves the warm climate, grows well even in shaded areas and fears the wind. In summer it can also be put outdoors, but it must be repaired in case of bad weather.
