Konstantin Chaykin presented a new model of the watch "Zvezdochet"

Konstantin Chaykin's “Stargazer” will take a special place in the “Ristmon” collection – a kinematic watch with a smiling face-dial. It will be the most complicated wristwatch invented in Europe, according to the European Book of Records. The mechanism will include 664 parts and 17 complications, 11 of which will perform astronomical functions.

“In 2024, it will be 21 years since the founding of the manufacture, and it was important for me to draw a kind of conclusion by combining the three main directions of my work: super-complex watch mechanics, anthropomorphic design and the theme of space exploration,” said Konstantin Chaykin.

One of the features of the “Zvezdochet” is a double-sided skeletonized case made of damask steel. The main dial is covered with ruthenium, which gives it a dark shade, and the secondary dial, on the tourbillon side, is covered with light rhodium.

The dark side features the iconic joker time indicator, where each part of the face-dial serves as a time indicator: for example, the “smile” is a sector indicator of the day of the week. Also on this side is a miniature planisphere – a rotating star map.

And on the light side, in addition to the moon phase indicator and solar activity indicator, there is a tourbillon with a titanium carriage, reminiscent of a mouth wide open in surprise, and other complications that made its creator a laureate of the European Book of Records.

About author

I pass by being that person liable to duty, but who cannot resist the flights of imagination. I have always loved the legends, the myths and the stories of the old and distant times with my whole being. In high school I fell in love with the history of art and I made it the object of my university studies. Once I graduated, I dusted off an old flame: that of children's literature. I rediscovered the beauty and importance of illustrated books and books, where, to a quality text, images are added that give strength and enrich what is narrated with meaning. It can be said that illustrators often make real works of art! It was then that I decided to follow this passion of mine both as a volunteer, entering the ranks of readers born to read, and in my work as a librarian. I am a greedy devoured of illustrated books (I have an absolute weakness for the stories that have bears or wolves as protagonists!), I love simple stories that know how to strike and surprise. I hate pigeon-holed books in a specific age group and readers in a certain category of readings. I think everyone is different and deserves to choose (and be chosen by the books) without constraints, in complete freedom! [email protected]
