Make up, the ideas from New York Fashion Week
Revlon Global Artistic Director, Gucci Westman, curated the make-up of many brands seen on the catwalks of New York Fashion week. We take inspiration from his creations to make us beautiful.
For the F / W 2014 collection of Rag and Bone he focused on a very clean look with some hints of punk and with a particular focus on the eyes. «I was inspired by the French ye ye of the Sixties, focusing my interest on a bold eye and a very natural and luminous skin. I first started with a cream eyeliner and then moved on to a liquid liner to create a more precise design. But this is not simply the creation of a cat eye but something more graphic, more trendy. The Rag and Bone woman is a woman who in her simple style wants to be different and unique ».
The central focus of the Jonathan Simkhai collection are the eyes highlighted using dark shades mixed with a touch of green, on a neutral base made such by a neutral face and naked lips. Gucci said: «I wanted to create a fairly sporty look and I used different eye shadow textures to create a lighter smokey eyes. So I mixed light gray, green, lead gray and left the lips neutral with a light color on the cheeks using lipsticks ».
A very delicate and natural look for the Autumn / Winter 2014 collection presented by the two stylists Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne of Public School. «I wanted to create a very simple style that is mainly based on the brightness and the feeling of well-being of the skin. No pomp, a sporty style for a woman next door. On the cheeks I used Skinlights to obtain a dew effect brightness and two shades of lipsticks to give a touch of color; for the lips instead I used products with neutral shades and for the eyes I only used an eyeliner in shades of brown ».
The make-up created for the F / W 2014 collection for Oscar De La Renta is extremely glamorous: «I concentrated my interest on the eyes, leaving the face very natural, for a" dramatic "final effect. I was inspired by the modern and youthful style of street wear, which can be worn at any time of the day, creating a very natural but at the same time glamorous final look. I mixed different colors of eyeshadows to create a smokey effect that was overall simple, without pomp, but at the same time sensual in line with the Oscar de la Renta collection ".
For Marchesa, too, she focused her interest on the eyes, creating a special graphic with the gel eyeliner and leaving the skin and lips very natural. «I was inspired by a model that was the fusion between a Scottish country girl and a maharaja princess, where the skin is the protagonist with its brightness and slightly pink cheeks. I like the depth and sensuality that darker colors give off, but I also wanted to add a slightly more eccentric and fun pop touch, so depending on the color of the eyes I added a touch of green or dark blue ".
