The Duchess reveals her secrets to better celebrate the holiday season
Meghan Markle prepares to celebrate her first Christmas in California with her husband Harry and their baby Archie. Before becoming the Duchess of Sussex, the actress enjoyed sharing tips and recipes on her lifestyle blog, The Tig, which takes its name from Tignanello, one of her favorite wines.
In an interview with Grazia, Meghan reveals her recipe for a spiced Christmas cocktail with almond milk, a perfect drink to sip in front of the fireplace, in the company of family and friends.
The drink is easy to prepare: just get almond milk, cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, cloves, dates and a final addition of bourbon. Meghan recommends blending all the ingredients, except alcohol, in a blender and then pouring the contents into a small saucepan.
The drink can be enjoyed both hot and cold. Depending on your taste, the mixture can be heated and then poured into a glass garnished with a cinnamon stick or shaken and served in champagne glasses with the rim covered with cinnamon or sugar.
Markle also admits that she tends to buy a substantial amount of food when planning holiday dinners. To delight the palate of her guests, Meghan loves cooking potato wedges with a mixture of oil, lemon juice, maple and an addition of cayenne pepper. A simple and tasty dish that only needs half an hour to cook.
Meghan loves to amaze not only by offering an original menu, but also by welcoming them with an elegant table. Therefore, he recommends using a white tablecloth and napkins, a sober but always appropriate choice. The former actress also provides valuable suggestions on how to give a festive touch to the hallway and living room. For example, he proposes to reinvent the classic garlands that decorate stairs and fireplaces, using them to enrich the frame of a mirror or a beautiful work of art.
Last week Harry and Megan were spotted at Big Wave Dave's Christmas Trees & Pumpkin Patch, a shop located inside the parking lot of Macy's department store in Santa Barbara. According to leaked news, the two will spend the holidays in their large villa in Montecito with little Archie and Meghan's mom. Some sources reveal that the Royals will host musician David Foster and his wife Katharine McPhee.
