Radiofrequency for face and cellulite: how it works, pros and cons

Radiofrequency is used in the aesthetic field to improve facial and body imperfections, such as loss of skin tone, the formation of wrinkles and the presence of cellulite. Here's how it works and what the positive and negative effects are.

Perfect face? Here are the 5 beauty treatments you need

Low-toned skin, wrinkles and cellulite can be treated with radiofrequency that uses heat and energy to promote cellular regeneration.

How does it work
In a radiofrequency session, through particular instruments, it acts on the deeper layers of the face or body epidermis. The heat that the handpieces give off causes a response to the level of collagen and elastin which results in an improvement in skin tone. In this way the wrinkles are reduced, the skin spots become less visible and there is a positive effect on the circulation, thus reducing cellulite and water retention. Heat stimulates the production of new collagen, essential for the skin to remain elastic and withstand the effects of time.

Among the advantages of radiofrequency is that it is painless and non-invasive. Moreover, it is a treatment suitable for any type of skin and does not require special precautions or specific preparation. A radiofrequency session lasts approximately half an hour, but depends on the size of the area to be treated.

The least pleasant aspect of radiofrequency is that the effect is limited in time, especially in the case of very mature and therefore less receptive skin. It is not in fact a treatment with permanent results. In addition, more sessions (generally at least 3-4) and a cycle of maintenance interventions must be taken into account in order to be able to count on more lasting benefits, but not definitive ones. The number of treatments depends on the problems you want to work on and on the characteristics of the person to be treated. Even the cost could discourage, the advice is always to turn to professional centers and where there is specialized personnel.
