Women recruitment bonus: it will be available until the end of June 2022. What it is, how it works and who it is: everything you need to know in a mini-guide.
The three-year period 2020-2022 will go down in history as the richest in bonuses. Also thanks to the Covid-19 pandemic, the government is doing everything possible to guarantee economic aid to citizens, with the aim of supporting them in spending on the purchase of goods and / or services.
Entire commercial and productive sectors are suffering an unprecedented crisis. Many people have lost their jobs. In almost two years of health emergency, it was mainly women who paid a very high price.
And precisely to support the world of female workthe government has decided to extend for the current year the female hiring bonus. The INPS also confirmed this by publishing a note on its portal. To apply for the benefit, there is time until the end of June 2022.
This is an incentive provided for by the 2021 Budget Law and which, in consideration of the persistence of the state of emergency and the difficulties suffered by the world of work, has also been extended for 2022. What it is, how it works and who is responsible for it: we take stock together, also focusing on the required requirements and application limits.
Women hiring bonus 2022: a relief from INPS
With the economic crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, it was the world of women’s work that lost the most. Many women, especially in the months when their children were busy every day with Dad, had to give up their jobs.
Since 2020, the number of women with involuntary part-time jobs has grown. We are talking about women who are satisfied with a part-time job but who, in reality, would have preferred a full-time job.
The female employment rate fell especially among young women (33.5%) and those living in the South (32.5%). Also starting from 2020, the number of female businesses has also decreased significantly.
Downward percentages that don’t leave too much room for imagination. This is why the State has decided to intervene in an incisive way with the women hiring bonus, extended to 2022 after the EU authorization.
This bonus consists of a 100% INPS relief (up to a maximum limit of 6 thousand euros per year), to facilitate the recruitment of women. All this to favor the increase in employment in the company.
This exemption, which has a specific duration ranging from 12 to 18 months, applies to both fixed-term and permanent employment contracts. As with any bonus, specific requirements are also required for this. Let’s not be fooled by the name: it is not aimed at all women.
Only the most disadvantaged will benefitin the face of one of these conditions:

- at least 50 years of age and without work for a year;
- residency in regions eligible for funding under the EU structural fundsand without a regularly paid job for at least six months;
- regardless of age and place of residence, without a regularly paid job for at least 2 years;
- activity carried out in a professional or work environment characterized by a marked employment gender disparity, e without regular paid employment for at least 6 months.
