Red zone: when hairdressers, restaurants and cinemas could open

From 6 April the subdivision of the country into colors returns, but there is also talk of possible reopening of hairdressers and restaurants in the red zone: let's see since when

After the Easter holidays that marked the passage of all of Italy to the red zone, we return to the now usual subdivision of the Regions by color. In the last few hours, however, there has been talk of the possible reopening of some businesses (hairdressers, restaurants, cinemas and theaters) even in areas where infections are highest.

But let's go in order. As already announced, the new government decree chaired by Mario Draghi comes into force on 7 April, with only two shades: red and orange. For the moment, the hypothesis of the yellow zone is excluded and even more so of the white zone.

Currently our country is divided as follows: Lombardy, Tuscany, Emilia Romagna, Calabria, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Piedmont, Puglia, Valle d'Aosta and Campania remain in the red zone. Veneto, Marche and the province of Trento were instead promoted in orange, with the order of the Minister of Health, Roberto Speranza, and are added to Abruzzo, Basilicata, Lazio, Liguria, Molise, Sardinia, Sicily, Umbria and the Autonomous Province of Bolzano.

What can be done in the orange zone

For the Regions in the orange zone, the restrictions are slightly relaxed: you can move freely within your municipality, between 5.00 and 22.00. Transfers to other Municipalities (and therefore also those to other Regions / Autonomous Provinces) are allowed only for proven work needs, situations of necessity or health reasons. Return to one's residence, domicile or home is always permitted. Return to "second homes" located inside and outside the region is allowed.

As for shops and businesses, only restaurants, bars, cinemas and theaters are closed, while hairdressers and beauty centers are open.

What can be done in the red zone

In the red zone, only the following movements are allowed:
– for proven reasons of work, health or necessity (even to another Region or Autonomous Province);
– the return to their residence, domicile or home, including the return to the "second homes" located inside and outside the Region.
On the other hand, travel to visit self-sufficient friends or relatives and, in general, all travel to private homes other than one's own not due to work, necessity or health reasons are prohibited.

The hypothesis of the reopening of hairdressers, restaurants and cinemas in the red area

In the decree, the government left open the possibility of easing some measures "due to the progress of the epidemic, as well as the state of implementation of the National Strategic Vaccine Plan with particular reference to the elderly and frail people, with a resolution of the Council of ministers ".

This is why we have returned to talk about the possible reopening of some activities also in the red zone: the idea is to allow the gradual reopening of hairdressers, restaurants, cinemas and theaters (and at a later time also of swimming pools and gyms).

The earliest possible date would be that of April 20, before then no changes are expected because we want to wait for more encouraging data regarding infections, the stability of health facilities and above all the increase in the number of vaccinated people.
