"Calculated smear campaign", Meghan Markle unleashes lawyers against the Royal Family while waiting for the truth-interview with Oprah Winfrey
Tensions between Meghan Markle and Buckingham Palace are skyrocketing a few days after the Sussex interview with Oprah Winfrey aired on 7 March. Harry's wife attacks the Palace directly accusing it of "smear campaign" against her and her husband.
Therefore, Meghan doesn't stop in front of anything or anyone. But precisely this stubbornness and this insistence on unleashing continuous low blows against the Royal Family, without even taking into account the precarious health conditions of Prince Philip, husband of Elizabeth and grandfather of Harry. Even Kate Middleton and William said they were stunned by the Sussex attitude.
In the interview with Oprah, Harry justifies their choices, in particular that of abandoning the monarchy, as an almost obligatory decision to avoid the nefarious fate that befell his mother, Lady Diana. The fact is that this public "chat" of Harry and Meghan seems to create more difficulties than Megxit itself.
Lady Markle, who in the interview shows off a splendid € 4,000 Armani dress, doesn't mince words about her husband's family. In fact, she said she was the victim of a "calculated smear campaign" by Buckingham Palace after she was accused of bullying and driving two collaborators crazy and eroding the trust of a third. Meg went on to argue that the Times is "used by Buckingham Palace to spread a completely false image based on misleading and harmful information" about how it would treat staff, just days after the Oprah interview aired.
Her lawyers said the former actress was "saddened by this latest attack on her person, particularly because she was portrayed as arrogant and aggressive while deeply committed to supporting those who have suffered pain and trauma."
The matter dates back to before the Sussexes left the Crown, when a complaint was filed against Meghan for bullying by a member of her staff at Kensington Palace, news that has been confirmed in recent days, as reported by the Daily Mail.
According to the Times, Jason Knauf, who served as Markle's secretary, said the Duchess kicked out two of her personal assistants and was undermining the confidence of a third. According to reports, Knauf, who now heads William and Kate Middleton's charitable foundation, apparently acted to persuade Buckingham Palace to protect the staff, claiming he was under unbearable pressure from Meghan. He also claims that Harry "pleaded" with him to drop the charges against his wife.
Sussex lawyers in turn accused the Times of reporting false and instrumental news on the eve of the interview with Oprah Winfrey.
