Serious mourning for Elisabetta Canalis. The showgirl's father, Cesare Canalis, died suddenly at age 78. The man was in Los Angeles, in the United States, where he had gone to visit his daughter to spend some time with Skyler Eva, her granddaughter, who is now one year and three months old, born of Elizabeth's marriage with Brian Perri.

Cesare Canalis was originally from Tresnuraghes, a small village in the province of Oristano where he often returned with Elisabetta and the rest of the family. In Sassari he was well known, also because of his prestigious role in the Institute of Radiology of the University of Sassari, where he had been primary.

The announcement of the death came from Attilio Mastino, a great friend of Dr. Canalis and former rector of the University of Sassari. On Facebook the professor wanted to greet the colleague with a long post: "With great sorrow we announce the death yesterday in Los Angeles in California of our friend Giulio Cesare Canalis – he wrote – already a primary of the Institute of Radiology of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Sassari. Board member of the University between 2001 and 2004 ".

"He was passionate about our research and had followed us to Tozeur in the Tunisian desert for the XV conference of Roman Africa in 2002, on the borders of the empire," Mastino continued. We had met him in Tresnuraghes on many public occasions, in the municipal council (where he had been the majority leader already in the administration led by his brother-in-law Pippo Lubelli, then he had re-nominated but had passed into a minority): he was our host, he offered his Malvasia, accompanied us to Foghe on the Rio Mannu, in San Marco, to the exhibition of airplanes on the airplane of the plateau. He made his home available for the students who followed the course of epigraphy in Porto Alabe. Finally we met him in the company of his inseparable wife Bruna in the courtyard of the Zedda-Athene house for the evening on the poet Orlando Biddau, to whom we steal a few moving words: if the common path should bifurcate, / the nightmare of your absence "will soften / over time like rowan or date or strawberry tree, / only for the heat secured to a house".

For now Elisabetta Canalis has not commented in any way what happened. It is not even clear what caused the death of his father and whether it was an illness or a disease he had been fighting for a long time. Certainly for the showgirl, very close to the parent, she will be suffering a lot from this loss.
