The Sex and the City series will be back on TV, but Samantha won't be there. This is confirmed by HBO, the network on which the show aired in the 1990s, becoming a real cult. The new chapter of Sex and The City will be titled And Just Like That. The audience will meet Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis, who will return to play the role of Carrie Bradshaw, Charlotte York and Miranda Hobbes. Absent instead Kim Cattrall, alias Samantha Jones, who will not return to play the role of her character.
The executive producers will be Parker, Nixon and Davis, flanked by Michael Patrick King. A highly anticipated revival that was announced as a surprise just when fans had lost all hope of discovering the adventures of the four friends. The series will consist of 10 episodes and will be shot in New York. Filming should begin in the spring, meanwhile the actresses have shared a short teaser that anticipates the show's arrival on the small screen.
In the video we hear the voice of Carrie, the undisputed protagonist of Sex and The City and we see her typing on the computer while the images of the Big Apple scroll by. "And that's right …", we read. "The story continues …". Sarah Jessica Parker commented on the Instagram post by writing: "I couldn't help but wonder … where am I now?". The TV series will be broadcast by HBO Max and has already created great excitement. “I grew up with these characters – explained Sarah Aubrey, head of original content – and I can't wait to see how their story has evolved in this new chapter, with honesty, intensity, humor and the beloved city that has always defined them ".
It was 1998 when the first episode of Sex and the City appeared on the small screen, a series created by Darren Star and based on the novel by Candace Bushnell. An adventure that lasted six seasons, until the farewell in 2004. Later, thanks to the affection of the fans and the commitment of the actresses, Samantha, Miranda, Carrie and Charlotte returned in two films: Sex and the City and Sex and the City 2. Kim Cattrall's absence has not been confirmed, but it now seems evident. The star after the end of the TV series had tried to distance himself from his character, also speaking publicly about the friction with Sarah Jessica Parker, on and off the set.
