Cake filled with chocolate cream, whipped cream and vanilla: the name is enough to open a whole world and it is wonderful to be inside it
It can be the idea to end a meal, for a different snack than usual, for one birthday party. Any excuse is good to prepare a delicious cake filled with chocolate cream, whipped cream and vanilla.
Basically it is a base of Sponge cake, with a chocolate ganache enriched and flavored with fresh vanilla. A fresh and spectacular dessert but also easy to prepare.

Before moving on to the recipe, a little trick. If we realize that the sponge cake has come out too dry we can soften it with a little milk spread with a pastry brush.
150 g of flour 00
80 g of potato starch
150 g of melted butter
4 medium eggs
140 g of granulated sugar
10 g of baking powder
1 vanilla bean
salt up to taste
350 g of dark chocolate
250 ml of fresh cream for desserts
Let’s start with the dough of our cake. In a bowl, whip the eggs and lo sugar using electric whips until we get get a frothy compound and beautiful fluid. At that point we add the melted butter (in a saucepan or simply in the microwave).
We continue to mix with the whisk and then add the flour and starch sifted together, then the yeast (also sifted) in order to avoid lumps.
When we have obtained a compact and soft mixture, pour it into a rectangular pan already lined with parchment paper and bake in a preheated oven at 170 ° for 30 minutes. Then we take it out of the oven and let it cool completely before taking it out.
While we wait, we can prepare the cream with chocolate, cream and vanilla. Break up the dark chocolate with your hands and then cut it into small pieces with a knife. Let’s melt it in a bain-marie or in the microwave and set aside
Then we pour the cream in a saucepan, add the seeds of the vanilla bean opened in the second of the length and heat everything until it is about to come to a boil. At that point we pour the flavored cream over the chocolate and mix everything well until it is very well blended.
Pour the mixture into a bowl, then insert it into a larger bowl full of ice and whisk the cream well with the electric whisk until you get a creamy mixture, similar to whipped cream.
When the base is cold cut it into three layers and then we begin to whip up the dessert. We spread the chocolate, cream and vanilla cream on a first layer, then cover with a second base layer of the cake and again with the cream. Finally a third base layer and a thinner layer of cream, possibly decorating with tufts of cream.
We put everything in the refrigerator for at least an hour and serve this cake still cold.
