Furthermore, this type of diet cannot be followed for more than two weeks because it risks causing serious damage to the liver and other organs. Before following the Danish diet it is important to make sure you are in good health and contact your doctor to seek advice. In any case, such a restrictive and protein-based diet is not recommended for hypertensive and diabetic patients, for women who are breastfeeding or are pregnant, and for those who are following a particular drug therapy.
