According to a recent research, tea tree oil and lavender essential oil could stimulate breast growth in men. Here because.
Tea tree oil: how it works, properties and contraindications
On the occasion of the ENDO 2018 conference, a team of scholars from the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences presented a study investigating the undesirable effects that can occur with the inappropriate use of essential oils.
During the annual meeting promoted by the Endocrine Society that took place in Chicago, American researchers brought the results of their study on the effects on the tumor tissues of some substances (eucalyptol, 4-terpineol, dipentene / limonene and alpha-terpineol and linalyl acetate, linalool, alpha-terpinene and gamma-terpinene) contained in lavender essential oil and tea tree oil. The researchers evaluated how these substances acted on hormonal activity, discovering that they can operate as estrogens (responsible for the female characteristics of the body, such as breast development) and that they can inhibit the action of androgens, such as testosterone (to which it owes the masculine traits, such as hair growth).
Among the consequences that the use of these oils could have is therefore also the growth of men's breasts. The offending substances are actually also contained in other essential oils, which is why these remedies should not be used lightly.
It should be emphasized, however, that scholars have focused on the effects on tumor tissues, it is not said that the same result will occur on healthy cells. Not only that, the researchers themselves highlighted how breast augmentation in men occurred only in individuals predisposed and particularly sensitive to those active ingredients.
Pending further investigation, the suggestion is to use these oils with caution and seek the advice of a specialist as they are potentially disturbing to the endocrine system.
