The ordinance signed by Lucia Azzolina establishes 14 September 2020 as the starting date, obviously giving space to the Regions to move according to their own determinations of competence
Education Minister Lucia Azzolina signed the ordinance establishing the reopening date of schools for the 2020/2021 year. The details on this were disclosed on the MIUR website on Friday 24 July.
On the basis of the aforementioned ordinance, the starting date of school lessons – valid for kindergartens, for the first and second cycle of education and for Provincial Centers for adult education – has been set for September 14, 2020.
In the text published on the pages of the Miur website, the regions are underlined to move according to their own determinations of competence, without however overshadowing the obligation to carry out at least 200 days of classroom lessons.
In the order signed by the Minister Azzolina, the date of September 1 is confirmed as regards the start of the recovery activities relating to the subjects of the school year 2019/2020. Having clarified these points, let's see together how the individual regions have chosen to move as regards the beginning of the next school year.
The first schools to reopen their doors in the 2020/2021 school year will be those of the autonomous province of Bolzano, which will resume lessons on September 7, 2020. The closure is scheduled for June 16, 2021.
What to say about the other Regions? That the day of 14 September was chosen as the starting date for school lessons in Lombardy – where kindergartens will resume on the 7th – Liguria, Lazio, Sicily, autonomous province of Trento, Piedmont, Valle d'Aosta, Emilia Romagna, Basilicata ,.
The regional junta of Campania, after the initial decision to start lessons on September 24, 2020, followed the choice of the Regions mentioned above. Abruzzo and Umbria must also be added to the list of those that will restart on 14 September 2020.
In Tuscany, lessons from schools of all levels will resume on September 15, 2020 (to end on June 10, 2021). The same departure date is foreseen for the Marche region. Not to forget is the case of Puglia, which will see schools resume lessons on September 24, 2020.
The departure date of school lessons in Friuli Venezia Giulia is scheduled for September 16, 2020. In Veneto the bell will ring again after so many months on September 11, 2020. In Sardinia, Calabria and Molise, lessons will resume on September 14.
As for the bridges, the first will fall in correspondence with the feast of the Immaculate Conception on December 8, 2020. The Christmas holidays, however, will go from December 23, 2020 to January 6, 2021 inclusive. We also remind you that the schools will close for Easter from 1st to 6th April 2021. No lessons also on 1st May, 25th April and 2nd June.
