Monica Giandotti is the new host of Unomattina. After successfully guiding Agorà Estate, a TV program broadcast on Rai 3 that explores political issues, the journalist is ready for a new adventure. Born in 1978, Monica was born in Rome and in her long journalistic career has dealt with numerous issues ranging from sport to current affairs.

Since she was a child she has cultivated a passion for writing and after her studies she has landed at TG 3. Despite being a Rai face loved and known by the public for years, Monica Giandotti has always protected her privacy.

The journalist is married to her colleague Stefano Cappellini with whom she had their son Giulio in 2018. Cappellini works in the world of information and his signature has appeared in Il Riformista, Liberazione and La Repubblica. Monica was given the task, together with Marco Frittella, of collecting the legacy of Valentina Bisti and Roberto Poletti. From conducting the news to that of a program, Giandotti has experimented with two very different ways of presenting. “Two very different jobs – he explained -. As the host of the news you are the collector of the work of the entire editorial team and it is a great responsibility. As a host of a program you need the ability to improvise and follow a script different from the one imagined ”.

Linked to Rai for years, Monica is a much loved face of the Viale Mazzini company. “I strongly believe in the Public Service. And I think more than where it matters the way you do it. Public Service is to consider the viewer the publisher and consumer of the product. Basically the only and indisputable contact person for your work ".
