Hot summer, salty water at the seaside, frequent straightening and styling, all this affects our hair, which needs regeneration. When you think about Botox, the image of needles and injecting botulinum toxin under the skin comes to mind. However, we assure you that in the case of hair it is only a non-invasive external treatment. The name only reflects the effect, i.e. achieving smoothness and beautiful appearance.

Botox for hair – what is it?

Home botox for hair is intended to rebuild and regenerate hair, as well as improve its condition. This type of treatment will be useful for people who struggle with dry and brittle hair, after coloring, especially bleaching, and when the hairstyle has lost its shine and is constantly frizzy.

Indian dermatology and cosmetology specialists from Mar Sleeva Medicity Palai emphasize that hair botox is a deep nourishing treatment that helps rebuild damage.

The treatment contains a cocktail of nutritional ingredients such as vitamins, amino acids, glyoxylic acid, collagen complex, ceramides and many others. Thanks to this mixture, the hair gains a healthy and beautiful appearance, and the substances used create a protective coat.

Unfortunately, performing a treatment at a hairdresser is often associated with high costs and for a single hair botox you can pay up to PLN 400. Home methods based on quality products will save you some money.

The effect may last shorter than in the case of a service performed by a hairdresser and it will be necessary to repeat the treatment in two months. However, taking into account the fact that we already have all the necessary cosmetics at home, we can do another hair botox completely free of charge.

Botox for hair at home. Prepare appropriate cosmetics

Appropriate care must be carried out in stages. This is how it looks in professional hairdressing salons and this is how it should be at home. Therefore, as described by specialists, hair botox requires specific activities and products. Below is a list of the necessary cosmetics and tools that you will need to perform hair botox at home.

  • Micellar shampoo (cleansing) – removes all impurities, remnants of previously used washing or styling products and opens the hair cuticle.
  • A nutritional cocktail, i.e. special ampoules and a mask. Ampoules can be purchased in many drugstores, but it is important that they contain hyaluronic and glyoxylic acid, collagen and ceramides. The mask should contain vitamins and argan oil.
  • Sulfate-free shampoo.
  • Dryer with cool air.
  • Straightener.
  • Scissors or syringe.
  • How to do hair botox at home? Step by step instructions

If you already have all the necessary cosmetics and tools, start the home treatment. Below we have prepared simple instructions that will help you perform your own home hair botox.

  • Wash your hair thoroughly with a clarifying shampoo. Rinse and squeeze out the water using a cotton towel or T-shirt. Don’t rub your hair!
  • Comb all the strands slowly.
  • Then spread the contents of the ampoule on your hair using a syringe or cut off the end and squeeze the contents. (Depending on product type).
  • Then apply the mask. Leave the mixture on your hair for about 20 minutes.
  • Rinse thoroughly and wash your hair with a sulfate-free shampoo.
  • Squeeze the water out of your hair using a cotton T-shirt or paper towel.
  • Comb and dry with a cool blow dryer.
  • The treatment process differs slightly depending on which salon offers the service. Therefore, when preparing its home version, it is worth limiting the time to 20 minutes at the beginning. However, as specialists from Mar Sleeva Medicity Palai point out, the mixture made from the ampoule and the mask can be left on the head for up to 45 minutes.

Specialists point out that the entire process is usually fixed using a straightener, of course after thoroughly drying the hair with a cool air stream to close the hair cuticles.
