Yesterday, Health Insurance signed a new medical agreement with doctors. What does it change for patients? Discover the three new features to know.
After months of negotiations, Health Insurance and the representative unions of doctors signed a new medical agreement yesterday.
This sets out the 4 priority areas defined by the framework letter from the Ministry of Health and Prevention last November:
- Improve access to care;
- Support the attractiveness of private medicine;
- Strengthen the quality and relevance of care;
- Change the methods of remuneration of private doctors.
It also sets prices for the next five years. Here's what you need to remember.
The consultation with the general practitioner will increase to 30 euros
This was one of the main demands of professionals. The consultation with the general practitioner will therefore increase from 26.50 euros currently to 30 euros. A measure which will apply from December, but should not be felt among patients who benefit from mutual insurance.
Some more expensive specialists, but in two stages
Price increases have also been negotiated for certain specialties. According to the specialized site Egora.fr, they will come into force in two stages, with a first increase in December 2024, then another on July 1, 2025. In this double wave:
- The reference consultation of psychiatrists and neurologists will increase to 50 euros then to 52 euros;
- That of gynecologists (in sector 1) at 32 euros (compared to 30 euros currently) then at 35 euros;
- For geriatricians, the billing will increase to 32 euros then to 37 euros;
- The consultation of doctors specializing in physical medicine and rehabilitation will be increased to 31 euros before reaching 35 euros;
- Finally, at the pediatrician, the child's three compulsory examinations may cost 54 euros then 60 euros.
A “long consultation” will be launched for seniors
For people aged over 80, general practitioners will also be able to charge “long consultations” at 60 euros in which they will take their time with the patient. A rate that can be used three times during the year, if necessary, such as when leaving hospital for example.
