The company Ölmühle Hartmann GbR is currently recalling a cooking oil due to microbial contamination with a pathogen. Consumption of contaminated food is advised against.
The Federal Office of Consumer Protection and Food Safety (BVL) reports on its portal “www.lebensmittelwarnung.de” about a recall by the company Ölmühle Hartmann GbR for the product wild garlic oil in the 0.25l bottle.
Microbial contamination with salmonella
According to a notice, the following product is affected by the recall:
Wild garlic oil 0.25l (HO rapeseed oil with wild garlic), batch: 51368, best before date (BBD): March 30, 2026, production date: January 23, 2024, EAN code: 4260063030543.
We have been informed by our supplier that the ingredient “chopped wild garlic leaves” has been contaminated with salmonella, writes the company from Diedorf/Biburg in Bavaria.
Therefore, this product has been removed from the range and immediately recalled as a precautionary measure due to a potential risk of infection with salmonella.
Purchase price will be refunded
Salmonella is a bacteria that can cause symptoms such as sudden diarrhea, headache, stomach pain, general malaise, and occasionally vomiting, and often a mild fever.
The symptoms usually disappear on their own after a few days. If symptoms persist, you should seek medical help immediately.
Food that may be contaminated with salmonella should generally not be consumed.
Customers who have purchased the relevant item can, of course, return it to their store for a refund of the purchase price, even without presenting the receipt.
