Avdeev Crystal Manufactory Shows Its First Crystal Chandeliers

The Dyatkovo Crystal Factory in the Bryansk region, which today operates under the Avdeev Crystal brand, presented three collections of crystal chandeliers – this is a new direction and a milestone in the development of production.

The classic Merville collection includes chandeliers made in the form of crystal lampshades. The brand has transferred here, among other things, techniques used in jewelry art. For example, guilloche – decoration by applying a pattern of thin lines to the surface, which is then covered with cold Italian enamel. Karl Faberge used this approach in his jewelry art.

The Charmont line includes compositions of crystal candles and crystal beads that are attached with the help of invisible hangers, creating the impression that the lamps are actually floating under the ceiling – like those very candles in the Harry Potter films.

The third collection, “Piedmont”, is built more on a laconic design.

“We were inspired by the interiors of the imperial palaces of St. Petersburg, the decoration of the Bolshoi Theater, and we wanted to recreate an atmosphere of solemnity and refinement at the same time,” says Sergey Avdeev, owner of Avdeev Crystal. “At the same time, when developing the design of our classic line of chandeliers, we deliberately moved away from massive structures, giving preference to lightness and airiness.”

In addition, the brand collaborates with young European designers. Avdeev Crystal plans to launch production of a chandelier in a modern style based on the design of the winner of a competition that the company held in the spring.

About author

I pass by being that person liable to duty, but who cannot resist the flights of imagination. I have always loved the legends, the myths and the stories of the old and distant times with my whole being. In high school I fell in love with the history of art and I made it the object of my university studies. Once I graduated, I dusted off an old flame: that of children's literature. I rediscovered the beauty and importance of illustrated books and books, where, to a quality text, images are added that give strength and enrich what is narrated with meaning. It can be said that illustrators often make real works of art! It was then that I decided to follow this passion of mine both as a volunteer, entering the ranks of readers born to read, and in my work as a librarian. I am a greedy devoured of illustrated books (I have an absolute weakness for the stories that have bears or wolves as protagonists!), I love simple stories that know how to strike and surprise. I hate pigeon-holed books in a specific age group and readers in a certain category of readings. I think everyone is different and deserves to choose (and be chosen by the books) without constraints, in complete freedom! [email protected]
