Flip-flops, mules and 'furry' shoes: the hottest footwear of this summer

Flip-flops, mules and 'furry' shoes: the hottest footwear of this summer

Flip flops

Yes, they are back and have staked out a place of honor not only on city streets, but also on the catwalks. I like the classics as interpreted by Chanel and Proenza & Schouler, as well as variations on the theme – like Miu Miu and Hermès. The former will look great with pantsuits, the latter can be worn with dresses (mini, midi, maxi), sundresses of all styles and Bermudas.

Jelly and “furry” pairs of shoes

At the spring-summer 2024 shows, we fell in love with the “shaggy” shoes from 16Arlington and Erdem, and six months later, at the fall-winter shows, we finally realized (thanks to Ferragamo) that we really need such a wonderful pair. Sweaters (that’s what they’re usually called) for the summer are chosen with fringe, feathers or tinsel, and for the fall (yes, already now) we’re looking at, among other things, openly furry or with short pile. In the same category — hottest — are jelly ballet flats, which, thanks to the Olsen sisters, we immediately wanted. We invest in The Row shoes or look for similar ones from local (and not only) brands.

Fisherman's sandals

Not again, but again. For the second season in a row, we find fisherman's sandals on the list of some of the most desirable summer items. They are good because they are extremely comfortable and extremely versatile. You can wear them barefoot or even with a sock. We saw them at the show by Mathieu Blasi for Bottega Veneta (a symbiosis of sandals and mules), JW Anderson (I liked the suede version), Gabriela Hearst (Gabriela Hearst's gold pair is worth a lot) and Erdem (a more closed and rough model).

Muly

If there is stability in the world of shoes, it looks, among other things, like mules. A win-win option for an office dress code, mini dresses and tuxedos. For the latter, choose something in the spirit of minimalist and satin on a triangle heel, for the first two cases, rounded-toe ones like Peter Mullier in Alaia or fantasy ones like Dries Van Noten will do.

About author

I pass by being that person liable to duty, but who cannot resist the flights of imagination. I have always loved the legends, the myths and the stories of the old and distant times with my whole being. In high school I fell in love with the history of art and I made it the object of my university studies. Once I graduated, I dusted off an old flame: that of children's literature. I rediscovered the beauty and importance of illustrated books and books, where, to a quality text, images are added that give strength and enrich what is narrated with meaning. It can be said that illustrators often make real works of art! It was then that I decided to follow this passion of mine both as a volunteer, entering the ranks of readers born to read, and in my work as a librarian. I am a greedy devoured of illustrated books (I have an absolute weakness for the stories that have bears or wolves as protagonists!), I love simple stories that know how to strike and surprise. I hate pigeon-holed books in a specific age group and readers in a certain category of readings. I think everyone is different and deserves to choose (and be chosen by the books) without constraints, in complete freedom! [email protected]
