Cockroach insecticide sachets have been recalled. According to the sheet issued by the Rappel Conso website, the product contains fipronil, a substance not authorized in Europe and which poses a health risk.

Health authorities warn of a risk of poisoning and invite consumers to no longer use the product. A contact number has been set up 06 18 05 03 73 and a refund is offered under certain conditions.

Fipronil, a substance not authorized on the European market

This product is subject to recall because it contains fipronil, an active substance not authorized on the European market. Classified as dangerous, it poses a health risk.

Fipronil is classified as “moderately toxic” by the World Health Organization but as a “possible carcinogen” by the American Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) above a certain exposure threshold. According to ANSES, Fipronil had its approval withdrawn under Regulation No. 1107/2009 on 09/30/2017.
