Citrus face mask. It will brighten, tighten and cleanse the skin

Homemade citrus mask is not only easy to prepare, but also easy to use. Thanks to it, we will not only moisturize the skin, but also get rid of blackheads and discolorations. It uses only natural ingredients that most of us can probably find in our kitchen. To make it, we will only need two ingredients: honey and lemon. Lemon has antibacterial properties, so its juice is helpful in treating blackheads and other forms of acne. Moreover, thanks to its acidity, it also acts as an exfoliating agent. Lemon juice also has a brightening effect while regulating excess sebum. Honey, however, has antiseptic properties and can help treat inflammation. It also helps in reducing or soothing sunburn. Honey also attracts water, making it a natural moisturizer.

To prepare the mask, we will need 2 tablespoons of honey and 2 tablespoons of lemon juice. Mix both ingredients thoroughly until combined. Apply the mask to a washed and dried face. Leave it on for about 20 minutes and then wash it off with warm water. We use the mask about once a week. However, if our skin is particularly oily or acne-prone, we can use it twice a week.

The mask can be freely modified. These products will work perfectly

The honey and lemon mask can also be modified. For example, adding half a teaspoon of baking soda to it. This product has strong anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, which will enhance the effect of the mask in the fight against acne. However, you must remember to apply it very gently. Baking soda may be too rough if you massage it into the skin too much.

You can also add egg white to the mask, which has a mild drying effect. Thanks to this, the mask will help us in tightening the pores and firming the skin.

Honey and lemon juice can also be mixed with 2 tablespoons of milk and 1 tablespoon of natural yogurt. Both milk and yogurt are helpful in cleansing, moisturizing and softening the skin. In the case of this mask, it is worth applying it in layers. Apply the first layer and wait until it dries, then apply the next one. We continue the process until we use up the entire mask. Then wait 10 minutes and wash off with lukewarm water.

We would like to remind you that you should not apply lemon juice directly to the skin as it may cause irritation – especially for people with sensitive skin type. It must be diluted first, for example with honey, to reduce its acidity. It is also worth doing a skin test to check how your skin reacts to lemon juice.
