Notice to salad lovers: the Auchan brand “coeur frisée” bag would now be banned for sale. The reason ? It would be contaminated by the bacteria responsible for listeriosis.

A bacteria responsible for listeriosis

After the cheeses and pâtés, it’s the turn of a salad to be recalled.

The “Coeur frisée” sachet sold at Auchan is the subject of a massive recall throughout Europe due to a “exceeding the regulatory criterion for the Listeria monocytogenes germ“.

To recognize the targeted product on the shelves, certain references must be taken into account:

  • Product category: Food;
  • Product subcategory: Fruits and vegetables;
  • Product brand name: Auchan;
  • Names of models or references: Coeur de frisée;
  • GTIN : 3596710385218 ;
  • Use-by date: 09/24/2023;
  • Packaging: bag;
  • Start/end date of marketing: from 09/13/2023 to 09/24/2023;
  • Geographical sales area: entire Europe.

The Consumer Recall site specifies that consumers who have consumed this bag of salad “and who present with fever, isolated or accompanied by headache, and body aches, are invited to consult their doctor and report this consumption.“.

Listeriosis can indeed lead to septicemia or an infection of the central nervous system. This disease particularly affects people with fragile immune systems, such as pregnant women (who may suffer miscarriage) as well as immunocompromised people and the elderly.

How to properly wash your salad?

It is advisable to pass your bagged salad under water for a long time before eating it.

Used fruits and vegetables should also be rinsed before cutting.

Finally, it is recommended to wash your hands, the work surface and the utensils before and after cooking.

About author

I pass by being that person liable to duty, but who cannot resist the flights of imagination. I have always loved the legends, the myths and the stories of the old and distant times with my whole being. In high school I fell in love with the history of art and I made it the object of my university studies. Once I graduated, I dusted off an old flame: that of children's literature. I rediscovered the beauty and importance of illustrated books and books, where, to a quality text, images are added that give strength and enrich what is narrated with meaning. It can be said that illustrators often make real works of art! It was then that I decided to follow this passion of mine both as a volunteer, entering the ranks of readers born to read, and in my work as a librarian. I am a greedy devoured of illustrated books (I have an absolute weakness for the stories that have bears or wolves as protagonists!), I love simple stories that know how to strike and surprise. I hate pigeon-holed books in a specific age group and readers in a certain category of readings. I think everyone is different and deserves to choose (and be chosen by the books) without constraints, in complete freedom! [email protected]
