The Federal Office for Consumer Protection and Food Safety (BVL) is currently providing information about a recall for grilled sausages that were sold at Aldi Nord and Aldi Süd. Triggers are health hazards from potentially contained plastic particles in the sausages.
As the BVL and the manufacturer “Gustoland GmbH” report, the product “Gut Drei Eichen Rostbratwurst 6x90g” with the best before date (MHD) August 7th, 2023 is affected by the current recall. The sausages were sold at Aldi Nord and Aldi Süd – but not in all federal states.
Danger from plastic foreign bodies
According to the Federal Office for Consumer Protection and Food Safety and the manufacturer, it cannot be ruled out that the grilled sausage may contain blue plastic foreign bodies. For reasons of consistent consumer protection, we reacted immediately together with Aldi Süd and Aldi Nord and took the affected products out of sale.
The product “Gut Drei Eichen Rostbratwurst 6x90g” with the above-mentioned sell-by date was offered in Aldi-Nord branches in the federal states of Berlin, Brandenburg, Hamburg, Saxony and Schleswig-Holstein as well as in Aldi-Süd branches in parts of North Rhine-Westphalia.
Health risks from foreign bodies
Anyone who has already bought the grilled sausages should urgently refrain from consuming them, as the foreign bodies could cause injuries in the mouth and smoking as well as internal injuries and possibly settle in the body, which can lead to chronic inflammation.
Affected products can be returned in all branches of Aldi Nord and Aldi Süd, the purchase price will of course be refunded – even without presenting the receipt, according to the manufacturer.
According to the manufacturer, the recall only includes the product “Gut Drei Eichen Rostbratwurst 6x90g” with the above-mentioned best-before date and other Gustoland products sold at Aldi Süd or Aldi Nord are not affected. (fp)
