Several cuts of beef are currently recalled in the South-West of Europe. The presence of Listeria would have been detected there.
Beef lovers, if you live in the South-West, or are staying there, you could be affected by a recall issued on December 19. Several minced steaks and other cuts of beef sold in the E.Leclerc Anglet BAB butchery are believed to be contaminated with Listeria.
What cuts of beef are affected?
These include chopped steaks, but also low ribs, sirloin roasts, entrecôtes, flank steaks and fondue pieces sold between November 22 and December 8, 2023.

What is the danger involved?
Analysis of the minced steaks highlighted the presence of Listeria monocytogenes, the agent responsible for listeriosis. As the government website points out, listeriosis is a disease that can be serious and has an incubation period of up to eight weeks.
“People who have consumed the products mentioned above and who present with fever, isolated or accompanied by headaches, and body aches, are invited to consult their treating doctor and report this consumption. Serious forms with complications neurological disorders and maternal or fetal damage in pregnant women can also sometimes occur. Pregnant women as well as immunocompromised people and the elderly should be particularly attentive to these symptoms.
What to do if you bought this meat?
