Don't drink it all, leave half a glass and apply it to your hair. They will be healthy and shiny

The first hair problems often appear in autumn. The winter break may cause them to weaken and fall out. Improper nutrition and vitamin and mineral deficiencies are often responsible for this. Therefore, it is worth strengthening the body and externally using a rather unusual mask.

Don't drink it all, leave half a glass and apply it to your hair. They will be healthy and shiny

Homemade hair masks are the methods used not only by our mothers, but also by our grandmothers. In the past, care was based only on natural ingredients. Thanks to this, women enjoyed healthy, strong, thick and shiny hair. Although genetic issues have a major impact on our appearance, it is also worth using old solutions that improved the condition of our hair.

Buttermilk mask. This simple ingredient will transform your hair

In ancient times, women also looked for methods that would make them more beautiful. That is why it has become quite popular to use egg yolks mixed with castor oil, vinegar rinses or kerosene.

This time, however, we will discuss a slightly different proposal. It’s about buttermilk, which used to be in almost every household and ended up not only in glasses, but also on the heads of many women.

To understand why it is worth using buttermilk for hair care, you must first analyze its nutritional value. Well, in just 100 g of milk drink we can find the following valuable vitamins and minerals:

  • protein (3.4g),
  • potassium (150 mg),
  • fosfor (80 mg),
  • calcium (110 mg),
  • magnesium (13 mg),
  • vitamin B1 (0.04 mg),
  • vitamin B2 0.17 mg
  • vitamin B12 (0.2 µg).

How does this composition affect the condition of the hair? Protein is a carrier of many vitamins. In addition, it is the main source of amino acids from which keratin is formed, the most important building block of the hair shaft.

Potassium strengthens the bulbs, making the hair stop falling out and become stronger. Phosphorus not only strengthens the hair, but also accelerates its growth.

Calcium participates in the process of secretion of enzymes and hormones, which additionally strengthens the hair and accelerates its growth.

However, without an appropriate dose of magnesium, our hair becomes brittle and susceptible to damage and excessive loss, so it is worth reaching for masks that are rich in this chemical element.

B vitamins regulate the functioning of the sebaceous glands, thanks to which the hair stops becoming greasy so quickly, the problem of dandruff, itchy scalp and excessive hair loss disappears.

How to prepare a buttermilk mask? Nothing easier

Now that we know that buttermilk is not only an exceptionally healthy drink, but also a great natural cosmetic, it is worth trying it in your daily care. To do this, simply pour one glass from a cardboard or bottle and leave it on the counter to reach room temperature.

After this time, apply buttermilk to washed hair and massage it gently into the scalp with circular movements. The amount of the mask depends on the density and length of our hairstyle. For shoulder-length hair, half a glass is enough. The mask applied in this way should be left on the head for about 15 minutes. After this time, rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water.
