Of course, this is not a treatment that “presses” wrinkles like lifting or botox, but it can be helpful in improving the condition of the facial skin. Learn how to achieve an effective facial massage, recommended by Cleveland Clinic specialists, dermatologist Shilpi Khetarpal and masseuse Vickie Bodner.

The recommended massage is a way to improve blood circulation in the face, rejuvenate it, give it a radiant look and strengthen facial muscles. The effectiveness was confirmed by a small study conducted on a group of women 40+.

Already 30 minutes. facial massage every day meant that women had strengthened cheek muscles, jawline muscles, as well as firmed neck, eyebrows and eyelids. Effect? Filling in places that have collapsed due to aging processes, reducing the signs of aging and reducing wrinkles.

A way to effectively massage your face

It is recommended to practice massage regularly, for at least 20-30 minutes. The mentioned massage points should be repeated three times.

  • Wash your hands and face
  • With your eyes closed, take a few deep breaths
  • Place your hands at the bottom of your neck, gliding along the line between your neck and collarbone
  • Place your hands on your chin, moving them up above your jawline towards your ears
  • Use your thumb and index finger to gently pinch the skin along your jawline
  • Close your mouth, relaxing your jaw. Massage the temporomandibular joint in circular motions, changing the directions of the massage
  • Press at the base of your nostrils, making circles with your hands from your cheekbones to your temples, around your eyebrows and nose.
  • Massage the temple area in small circles
  • Pinch your eyebrows gently, from your nose towards your temples
  • Move your fingers from your nose to your temples, from your eyebrows to your hairline
  • Gently pull the ears, from the lobe to the top, away from the head, massaging them. Then massage in the opposite direction.
  • This simple facial massage allows for better blood circulation in the facial skin, reduces facial swelling, relaxes facial muscles and reduces tension. Combined with proper care using creams and masks, thanks to this simple method you can gain a youthful appearance and better well-being. It is not recommended to use massage, among others: in case of wounds, injuries, significant skin lesions.
