Why does the hair quickly become greasy and flat? The key may be the washing method. Making a few small changes to your routine can bring noticeable results to the health and appearance of your hair and scalp.

How to wash your hair?

Start by moistening your hair – damp hair absorbs shampoo better. Instead of applying it directly to your hair, pour a small amount into your hand, add water, lather it up and then massage it into your scalp. After the massage, rinse the shampoo with lukewarm water and repeat the entire process. Why double washing? This ensures thorough cleansing and extends the time after which the hair begins to become greasy.

How often should you wash your hair?

The next step in care is scalp peeling. Although you can purchase specialized cosmetics, you can also create your own scrub at home. Exfoliation is key to skin health wherever you are on your body – from your feet to your face. The scalp is no exception.

Here is a homemade peeling recipe:

  • In a small bowl, mix two tablespoons of sugar, one tablespoon of coconut oil and one teaspoon of apple cider vinegar until smooth.
  • Add a teaspoon of honey and a few drops of rosemary oil and mix thoroughly.
  • Apply the prepared mixture to dry or slightly damp hair. Massage gently into the scalp in circular motions.
  • Scalp massage stimulates circulation, removes dead skin cells, impurities and excess sebum.
  • Leave the scrub on your scalp for a few minutes and then wrap your head with a towel or shower cap.
  • After this time, rinse your head and wash your hair with shampoo, and finally apply conditioner.

When to use peeling?

Using the peel is easy. It is best to apply it to wet scalp and massage for a few minutes. Manufacturers recommend exfoliating once or twice a week. Detailed information on this subject can be found on cosmetic packaging.

People with normal and dry scalp should use peeling once a month, while people with oily hair – twice a month.

Carrying out this type of treatment on a regular basis significantly affects the condition of the hair, making it fluffier and less greasy. There are numerous scalp peeling products available on the market in various price ranges, from PLN 10 to PLN 30. However, home methods are equally effective and will not burden our budget.
