What are the risks of such consumption?

These batches of Morbier have been recalled because they contain the bacteria Escherichia coli. If you have consumed one of these products, the symptoms that may occur in the following week are: diarrhea, sometimes bloody, abdominal pain and vomiting, accompanied or not by fever. These signs can also be followed by severe kidney complications, mainly in children.

If any of these symptoms appear, consult your doctor as soon as possible, informing him of the place and date of purchase of the cheese consumed. Conversely, if you do not have any symptoms within 10 days after consuming these morbials, there is no need to worry and consult a doctor.

According to health authorities, raw milk and cheeses made from raw milk should, as a precaution, not be consumed by young children and particularly those under 5 years old. For this type of consumer, it is preferable to opt for cooked pressed cheeses (such as Emmental, Comté, etc.), processed spreadable cheeses or even pasteurized milk cheeses. These recommendations should also be followed by pregnant women, immunocompromised people and the elderly.
