A cheese is currently being recalled from the Lidl supermarket chain because it cannot be ruled out that the product is contaminated with a pathogen. Consumption of the affected article is not recommended.
According to customer information published by the Federal Office for Consumer Protection and Food Safety (BVL) on its portal “lebensmittelnning.de”, the supplier Züger Käsevertriebs GmbH is recalling the product “Milbona Seemerzler, 200g”. The recall comes because it cannot be ruled out that the cheese contains a pathogen.
Listeria contamination
Affected by the recall is the cheese “Milbona Seemerzler, 200g” with the identity code CH 5417 and all best-before dates up to and including October 10, 2023.
Contamination with Listeria monocytogenes cannot be ruled out for the affected product, according to the customer information.
Customers should be aware of the recall and not consume the affected product.
The affected product “Milbona Seemerzler, 200g” with the identity code CH 5417 and all best-before dates up to and including October 10, 2023 from the supplier Züger Käsevertriebs GmbH was sold by Lidl in Central Europe exclusively in the federal states of Bavaria, Berlin and Brandenburg.
Lidl immediately removed the affected product from sale. The cheese can be returned in all Lidl branches. The purchase price will be refunded, even without presenting the receipt.
