The Federal Office of Consumer Protection and Food Safety (BVL) reports on its portal “www.lebensmittelverkauf.de” about a recall for chips that were sold at Lidl.
Not suitable for consumption by all people
The Belgian manufacturer NV Snack Food Poco Loco is currently recalling the product “Snack Day Salted Tortilla Chips” in the 300 gram pack with the best before date (BBD) December 14, 2024 and the lot number 34045 0421.
According to the information, it cannot be ruled out that cheese-flavored tortilla chips are also included instead of the declared salted tortilla chips. These contain milk products, which are not labeled on the packaging.
Due to the possible allergic reaction from consumption, people with a milk protein allergy should definitely pay attention to the recall and not consume the affected product. The product is fully suitable for consumption by people without a milk protein allergy.
Sold in many states
The affected product “Snack Day salted tortilla chips, 300g” was sold by Lidl in Central Europe in all federal states with the exception of Hamburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Saarland and Schleswig-Holstein.
For reasons of consistent consumer protection, Lidl in Central Europe reacted immediately and removed the affected product from sale, according to customer information. The product can be returned to all Lidl branches. The purchase price will be refunded, even without presentation of the receipt. (ad)
