REWE, EDEKA and Netto are currently recalling various frozen products because there could be foreign bodies in the items. We strongly advise against consuming the affected product.
The Federal Office of Consumer Protection and Food Safety (BVL) reports on its portal “www.lebensmittelwarning.de” about the recall of various frozen products that could pose a health risk due to the foreign bodies they may contain. The items were sold at REWE, EDEKA and Netto Marken-Discount.
Metal shavings in frozen spinach
According to consumer information, the company ARDO NV has expanded an existing product recall from March 1, 2024 of the item REWE Beste Wahl, Junger Spinach Chopped in the 450 gram packaging with the best before date (BBD) 01/2026 and the production batches 144003 and 144004.
For reasons of preventive consumer protection, the company is also recalling the following items:
REWE Best Choice, Young Spinach Chopped 450 grams (Best Before 12/2025 and 01/2026) EDEKA Young Spinach Chopped, 450 g, frozen (Best Before 12/2025 and 01/2026) Netto Marken-Discount Best Harvest Young Spinach Chopped, 450 g , frozen (best before 12/2025 and 01/2026)
It cannot be ruled out that there are metal shavings in individual packaging of the above-mentioned products.
Foreign bodies such as metal shavings in food can cause various injuries and problems, such as injuries to the mouth and throat. Internal injuries cannot be ruled out either. We therefore strongly advise against consuming such products.
Customers who have purchased one of the affected products are asked not to use this frozen spinach. You can return it to your shopping location without presenting the receipt for a refund of the purchase price. (ad)
