This common mistake in the shower causes the appearance of pimples on the body according to a dermatologist

Do you have pimples on your chest or back? They may come from a trivial mistake, which we often make in the shower. Here is the explanation.

Pimples can appear anywhere on the face or body. But if you have them on your back or chest, they may be due to a mistake that we sometimes make in the shower and which is easy to correct.

A dermatologist explains in a video the origin of these pimples

In a TikTok video, dermatologist Dr. Lindsey Zubritsky explains a common mistake that causes pimples to appear on the body, especially on the chest and back. “JI’m a dermatologist and I see that you all make this mistake in the shower.” she announces first of all. But what is it about? The expert actually talks about the time to rinse out your conditioner.

Do not rinse your conditioner last

I notice that (many of you) put the conditioner in your hair, let it sit, then rinse it out as the last step of the shower routine.” explains Dr. Zubritsky in his video. “Please don’t do this”.

In fact, when we do this, we can leave residues of this product on our body, which will encourage the appearance of spots. “When conditioner residue runs down your back, chest, and/or other parts of your body, it can clog your pores and cause breakouts if not properly cleaned with water and soap” she indicates.

Wash your body last

So you understand, the solution is to wash your body last. Once the hair has been washed and the conditioner rinsed out, soap your body to eliminate these potential residues and avoid the risk of generating pimples, particularly on your back or chest. Because in addition to having a thick texture, which blocks the pores of the skin, these conditioner products are also often composed of oils and silicones which create a sort of barrier on the skin, promoting inflammation.

And if following this routine is not enough to eliminate pimples from your skin, you will need to consult a dermatologist who can prescribe treatments to apply locally to treat your acne.
