The interior gallery Design Place, which recently celebrated 12 years since its opening, is located in the center of Moscow, on Frunzenskaya embankment, 26. It presents collections of such brands as Vladimir Kagan, Paul Mathieu, Cecotti, Meridiani, Vincent Van Duysen, Roberto Lazzeroni, Pouenat , Tai Ping, Patricia Urquiola, Philippe Starck, and many others.
The gallery’s specialists, led by Lilya Akhmetshina, are always ready to help clients choose new products or advise on accessories and details for the interior design of an apartment, house or office space. For example, the gallery exclusively features several brands, including Holly Hunt and Molteni&C.
American classic from Holly Hunt
The brand, founded by American designer Holly Hunt almost 40 years ago, produces home and outdoor furniture, lighting, carpets, wallpaper, textiles and leather items. In addition, the brand works with individual orders.
Holly Hunt also creates collections that are coveted by collectors. For example, in the brand’s assortment you can find the Wysiwyg and Contour Low Back Lounge chairs, as well as the Freeform Curved sofa, created by the legend of American design of the twentieth century, designer Vladimir Kagan, whose works are included in the collections of leading museums in the world. He was called the king of sofas. Kagan’s unusual and eye-catching furniture was loved by Marilyn Monroe and Arthur Miller, Walt Disney, Frank Sinatra, and Andy Warhol.
Italian restraint from Molteni&C
In 1934, Angelo Molteni started with a small craft workshop, which grew to become a huge factory. The brand specializes in classic and sleek furniture that fits easily into almost any space. For example, boutiques of the jewelry brand Cartier around the world and the La Fenice theater in Venice are decorated with Molteni&C furniture.
Over the years, the company has collaborated with designers such as Werner Blaser, Yasuhiko Ito, Donato D’Urbino and Carlo Volonterio. Since April 2016, Belgian architect and designer Vincent Van Duysen, known for his laconic style, has been appointed creative director of the Molteni&C brand.
