Cardigans, skirts, dresses and scarves: what to wear with knitwear this winter

Looking at fashion shows for the fall-winter 2023 season, you will notice that designers are leaning towards more voluminous knitwear. Bottega Veneta, Louis Vuitton and Victoria Beckham showed oversized knitwear paired with cozy accessories like leggings and scarves. In addition to the usual sweaters with prints, fitted cardigans with buttons and voluminous jumpers, the collections had a lot of interesting things: from feminine dresses to voluminous scarves decorated with large brooches.

Cardigans, tops and vest

The “librarian” look in a classic fitted button-up cardigan continues to be a popular trend. But this season it’s worth paying attention to other options for cardigans: more voluminous, with torn edges, openwork knitting, with metal fasteners, in rich colors and, of course, with prints. The choice of cardigan depends on the image you want to create. For the preppy, you need a short cardigan paired with a large pleated skirt, and for a relaxed urban look, a voluminous cardigan, for example, with torn edges, which will be combined with leather trousers or jeans, is suitable.

Knitted tops or unusual polo shirts will make the look edgy. They can be combined with jeans or low-waisted trousers. And long cardigans will add a relaxed silhouette and are suitable for layered looks. Cable knitting creates a beautiful and intricate texture that adds interest to any outfit.

Sweaters, jumpers and turtlenecks

The turtleneck sweater trend shows no signs of slowing down. This season, designers are showing silhouettes in bright or pastel shades (Bottega Veneta, Stella McCartney, Salvatore Ferragamo). Despite its casual style, this sweater can easily be adapted into an evening outfit – you just need to choose an accent hem and the right accessories. For example, at the shows of Gucci and Givenchy, jewelry was used, namely large necklaces and brooches.

About author

I pass by being that person liable to duty, but who cannot resist the flights of imagination. I have always loved the legends, the myths and the stories of the old and distant times with my whole being. In high school I fell in love with the history of art and I made it the object of my university studies. Once I graduated, I dusted off an old flame: that of children's literature. I rediscovered the beauty and importance of illustrated books and books, where, to a quality text, images are added that give strength and enrich what is narrated with meaning. It can be said that illustrators often make real works of art! It was then that I decided to follow this passion of mine both as a volunteer, entering the ranks of readers born to read, and in my work as a librarian. I am a greedy devoured of illustrated books (I have an absolute weakness for the stories that have bears or wolves as protagonists!), I love simple stories that know how to strike and surprise. I hate pigeon-holed books in a specific age group and readers in a certain category of readings. I think everyone is different and deserves to choose (and be chosen by the books) without constraints, in complete freedom! [email protected]
