Its residents spend more than nine hours a day there.

On average, the world's population spends 6 hours 43 minutes on screens daily, according to the Electronics Hub report. While nearly one in two Americans admit to having an addiction to digital devices, according to Statista, it is in South Africa that residents spend most of their time on screens. They spend on average 56.80% of their waking time looking at a screen, or an average of 9 hours 24 minutes per day.
