Is it true that drinking wine before bed makes you lose weight?

According to some studies, drinking red wine before going to sleep would help you lose weight, all thanks to resveratrol, do you know why?

What foods should you avoid if you want to lose weight?

The news caused a sensation and is destined to divide public opinion: studies have shown that drinking red wine, especially before going to bed, would favor weight loss. Will it be true?

All thanks to resveratrol
The results of a study conducted by Washington State University researchers are truly surprising: red wine would facilitate weight loss, especially if drunk in the evening before going to sleep, thanks to its resveratrol content, a polyphenol with antioxidant properties present in the skin of the dark berried grapes. Resveratrol would be able to transform the most difficult fat to dispose of in fat that can be easily eliminated through thermogenesis, i.e. the production of heat, induced precisely by the consumption of wine. Not only that, a 2012 study conducted on bees has revealed that resveratrol can contribute to the reduction of appetite. If consumed in the evening it would thus reduce the probability of getting up for a night snack. A research by Harvard University also links the consumption of red wine with staying fit: in this case a sample of 20,000 women was analyzed with the result that those who drank 2 glasses of wine a day had about 70% less of probability of being overweight.

Be careful not to overdo it
The news could have wowed wine lovers, in order not to have side effects it is good that you consume quality red wine, organic and without sulphites, consumed in moderation: maximum 2/3 glasses per day for men and no more than 2 for the woman. Since resveratrol is also found in berries and dried fruit, you can also opt to eat blueberries, raspberries, blackberries or red grapes and drink the relative juice (unsweetened).
